Rain was pouring down outside Atlanta I wasnt having any luck at all Trying to stay dry but I couldnt thumb a ride So I stood there in the rain and watched it fall Started thinking back to Arizona Remembering a lesson I had learned Every word she said kept on ringing through my head And suddenly the crying had returned I was crying in the rain outside Atlanta Hoping that nobody else would see Even after all these years The rain cant hide the tears But it couldnt wash away the memory Of somebody I loved getting free I knew what I wanted when I saw her But I wanted more than she could give More than wanting me she just wanted to be free There was still some life she had to live Finally got a ride on down to Florida I didnt know exactly what Id find Trying to forget a woman that I met But I just cant seem to get her off my mind
